Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association

September 2026 Newsletter

Welcome Back to the 2026-2027 school year! As I connect and work with all of our basketball coaches across the state I continue to be amazed and impressed by the dedication and commitment it takes to coach high school basketball successfully. This year, my focus is continuing to grow our membership, especially with smaller schools and in Western MA, providing stronger support for new coaches, and working closely with the MIAA to address the issues that matter most to us, including exploring the possibility of a June Scholastic Event. By staying connected and supporting one another, we can ensure our coaching community – and the sport we love – thrives both on and off the court.

For more than 60 years, the MBCA has stood alongside the dedicated men and women who coach high school basketball across Massachusetts. As we look ahead to the upcoming season, we recognize the time and energy you’re already investing – whether it’s planning preseason workouts, building schedules, or mentoring athletes off the court. The MBCA remains focused on supporting your work, promoting your voice, and protecting the game we all care about.

Finally, I invite you to get involved with the association. Our Executive Board is always looking for members to step up – whether as league representatives, district coordinators, or simply willing volunteers. If you have questions, ideas, or an interest in contributing to MBCA’s efforts, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
